CNDP1,CN1,CPGL2
Background
Beta-Ala-His dipeptidase is also known as Carnosine dipeptidase 1 (CNDP1), CNDP dipeptidase 1, Glutamate carboxypeptidase-like protein 2, Serum carnosinase, CPGL2, which belongs to the peptidase M20A family. CNDP1 is found in serum and adult nervous central system. CNDP1 preferential hydrolysis of the beta-Ala-|-His dipeptide (carnosine), and also anserine, Xaa-|-His dipeptides and other dipeptides including homocarnosine. The catalytic activity of CNDP1 is inhibited by the metal chelator 1,10-o-phenantrolin and the inhibitory concentration 50% (IC50) is 5 µM.
