Matrix Metalloproteinases

Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are a family of zinc-dependent endopeptidases that play a significant role in degrading various substrates within the cell and in the extracellular matrix. This includes substrates such as myelin and other extracellular matrix proteins, cytokines & other growth factors, and cell adhesion-associated molecules.
As such, MMPs are an integral part of enabling cell migration, playing a role in physiological processes including ECM metabolism, cell migration, tissue repair, tissue remodeling, and many others. Different MMPs are expressed in different tissue types, with aberrant expression closely associated with the onset of diseases, including inflammatory, cardiovascular, and cancer diseases.
We now offer a wide range of highly active MMP recombinant proteins, including MMP-1, MMP-2, MMP-3, MMP-7, MMP-8, MMP-9 and MMP-10, supporting pathological mechanism research and drug development studies.
